Sooky Winkler, PEng, PhD

Dr. Sooky Winkler is the Senior Engineering Manager, Global Advanced Materials for Dana Incorporated.  In this role she is responsible for leading Dana’s global materials engineering teams and Dana’s strategic direction for advanced materials and process technologies.

With 23 years experience in collaborative R&D, technology development, engineering management, and cross-functional team and stakeholder management; Sooky is passionate about building partnerships with industry, academia and government to strengthen Canada’s leadership in innovation and to promote the representation of women within the STEM workforce. 

Sooky started her career as a researcher in 1998 in the U.K. and held progressive roles within the Canadian academic, automotive and manufacturing sector since 2003. She holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Imperial College London, U.K. and is a licensed Professional Engineer of Ontario. She has over 35 peer-reviewed publications and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Waterloo in Canada.
