As you have probably heard, the ReMAP AGM held on June 29th was a huge success. Hosted by Ryerson University, ReMAP welcomed over 140 guests at the historic Mattamy Athletic Centre for a lively evening of food, fun and networking.
This year’s AGM was a great opportunity to celebrate our achievements in 2015-16.
Throughout the night, our partners took the opportunity to showcase all of the ReMAP products currently in development.
Thanks to our 32 network partners, ReMAP has grown a lot over the past two years. Some of the highlights in 2015-16 include:
- 17 new products/services introduced
- 80 prototypes developed
- 123 jobs created/maintained
- $49M in investments/revenues
- 37 publications authored
- and so much more!

FROM IDEA TO MARKET: Q&A
The road to the global market can be challenging and risky. ReMAP aims to bridge the commercialization gap between applied science and industry through a business-led product develop-ment framework.
Moderated by Board Chair Brad Jackson, ReMAP invited five Canadian entrepreneurs to speak at our AGM. These panelists shared their experiences regarding commercialization risks and challenges, and developed in Canada to the global market.
Canada has highly qualified, skilled labour; it’s not about trying to reach out and prevent the outsourcing of mass manufacturing, but it’s more so focusing on cost-competitive high-quality products.
