REMAP recently partnered with Region of York's Economic Development Office along with the Newmarket and Vaughan Chambers of Commerce to co-host a YRBiz Webinar on Accessing International Markets During COVID-19. Even though travel restrictions are still in force, companies continue to develop international markets through the use of new programs and technologies. This session provided important updates to the CanExport program which allow for market research and attendance at virtual trade shows. You will also find valuable tips and tricks for getting the most out of the virtual format, leveraging export opportunities, and details about the Trade Accelerator Program launching soon in York Region.
Opening remarks from Irene Sterian included comments on Canada’s State of Export during COVID-19 in reference to the 2020 Canada State of Trade Report from The Honourable Mary Ng Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade and the World Trade Center Utah virtual trade mission to Canada. The expert line-up shared valuable insights and observations geared to providing practical advice and guidance to help small businesses navigate the challenges of the pandemic.

The Newmarket and Vaughan Chambers of Commerce, in partnership with the Regional Municipality of York, and with support from the York Region Business Coalition launched the first phase of the Roadmap to Recovery series which to run from July to October.
