Event: SingularityU Canada Summit

SingularityU Summits take place in communities all around the world. This year, the first Canada Summit featured dozens of top-experts who are directly involved in the technologies and industries they spoke about. At the Lab, attendees discovered breakthrough technologies that are driving exponential change and joined others to solve humanity’s grand challenges while connecting with other innovators.We were excited to make the SingularityU Canada Summit an unforgettable experience for those who were not in attendance. ReMAP joined with SingularityU Canada as a Community Partner and hosted a live stream at the Celestica, Toronto location.  We expect that Canadian innovation will ultimately benefit by expanding its reach.

ReMAP met  Oren  Berkovich, CEO of SingularityU Canada Summit following the Introduction to Exponentials by Peter Diamandis.

Samil Ismail, host of the SingularityU Canada Summit   talked about Canada as a Platform:

  • Use Canada as a brand
  • Fix small thinking (risk-takers award)
  • Invest in E-commerce, AI, and quantum computing
  • Leverage industry/gov't collaboration

He realizes Canada’s potential and offered inspiring options to leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors across the nation.

Diane Francis led a panel discussion on Energy with Ramez Naam, Dr. Tom Rand, Dr. Josipa Petrunic and Sean Collins. They talked about Canada’s challenges and potential in developing renewable energy.
